Confluence is a brand new album, released November 3, 2017 on River Records. With voices from New York, Stockholm, Munich, Michigan and Köln, a unique opportunity presented itself to record this creative and exciting music with Adam Nussbaum – Drums, John Goldsby – Bass, Tim Collins – Vibraphone, Johan Hörlén – Saxophone and Andy Hunter – Trombone.

THE CONFLUENCE PROJECT

Modern Swinging Jazz, steeped in the melodic and harmonic tradition of the 1950’s and 1960’s. Saxophonist Johan Hörlen and trombonist Andy Hunter frame their agile instrumental skills in a variety of compositions that showcase the pair as improvisers. The arrangements vary from punchy and tight ensemble playing to open and intuitive gestures, with inspiring and sympathetic playing from sidemen Adam Nussbaum on drums, John Goldsby on bass and Tim Collins on vibraphone.
