ochun is a great cuban band, think of
the vibe of buena vista social club. please check the ochun myspace page
to see where ochun is playing next; the band performs on a weekly
basis. hunter recorded on their two most recent cds, including "en el
ano de ochun,"
which is available at stores and through their website,
www.ochunmusic.com. in 2006 the band was nominated for 3 grammy award
categories and travelled to china in october, where they played several
club gigs in a few cities and the shanghai fuxing international jazz
festival, an event that hunter was also the m.c. for.
